App design, UI/UX
Walkabout is an application for visitors to the Harn Museum of Art, helping them to engage and navigate the museum’s collections. For this challenge, I worked with classmate Madeline Baker to provide a deeper education on each featured piece of art than what is possible on a typical gallery card.
Users enter a 4-digit code found on the gallery card of each piece in the museum. Walkabout then provides them with background information of the artwork and its artist, what inspired the work and other key factors that enhance the visitor’s experience. This app also informs the museum staff of the number of visitors to the museum and which specific galleries and pieces are most popular.
